Power of companionship

I was comparing the life of Guna in Natarang v/s Dadasaheb Phalke in HarishChandra chi factory. Both have something in common. Their passion is unacceptable by the society. Guna is passionate about tamasha, so much that he is ready to change his on screen identity for pursuing it. Dadasaheb is passionate about making a motion picture. None of his relatives support him in this venture, some even think he is mad and get him admitted to mental hospital.

However there is a difference in their families. The difference is in the attitude and confidence shown by their companions towards them. Guna 's wife Daarki does not exhibit any confidence in her companion. She is influenced by her in laws , father and society. She does not make any effort to understand Guna' s passion.

To contrast this Dadasaheb's wife Saraswati , has a similar situation. But then she completely trusts her husband's strength and passion. She supports him and stands by his side throughout. She even lets him go abroad when she is carrying, which reflects on her courage. She creates a jolly atmosphere in the family. Their family is seen as a single unit.

Guna on the other hand is left alone in his battle for pursuing his passion. Its natural that he gets drawn towards Nayna. Nayna understands him and offers him the support that he desired from his wife.

I am not saying it is solely women who make or break the house. It is the companionship between husband and wife which defines the house environment. If they both respect and understand each other home can be truely heavenly .

Life has many ups and downs it surely helps to have a companion like Saraswati on your side :)

Hope you find a Saraswati/ Dadasaheb in your life too !
