How much of curiosity is good curiosity ?

I saw a nat geo documentary on titanic exploration. It talked about a navy engineer who was determined to search titanic. He found it after years of hard work. However soon after it was found , titanic became a tourist spot, russian submarines would take people for a tour of titanic, slowly the titanic was being damaged by frequent visitors.

Man has a very curious nature to explore things around him. This curioisty takes him places and he discovers new things, but every new discovery gets spoiled when it gets exploited.
Titanic is just an example. In mountaineeering people explore new places , new routes. In some years that place gets filthy and spoilt. 

Look at what has happened to everest. 

This makes me think ...how much of curiosity is good curiosity ?

All apples in this world are green

Once on a trek I saw an apple tree, it had green apples.
I went further and saw another apple tree, it also green apples..
I therefore concluded that all apples in this world are green... !!!

Why we avoid grief ?

Why we avoid grief ?

Life gives us both grief and happiness in same amounts.

We enjoy happiness to the fullest ... 

But in many people I don't see the same reaction for grief.

When in grief we run away, listen to cheer up songs, blame it on fate, avoid it , get busy doing something so we don't have to face it..

Why don't we embrace grief the same way we embrace happiness .. with both arms open ?

I want to handle it more bravely and accept it as part of life ...

The surprise gift

Yesterday when I went to a shopping mall , the cash vendor told me that I had won a surprise gift.

The surprise gift was a huge box.

On seeing the huge box I was very excited I thought of all the things I wanted in my life and expected that it would be there in the box.

I opened the box slowly layer by layer.
As I opened it, it turned out to be smaller and smaller, my hopes and dreams diminishing with each layer.

Finally it was a very small piece of dairy milk chocolate.

Now ...

Should I be angry that the shopping mall cheated me and just stop shopping  ?


Should I blame myself for expecting too much and be happy to get a free dairy milk ?

Compare my gift with others who got an IPAD ?

Go shopping again expecting for more ?

Also , should the dairy milk be unhappy for being in the box and get a disappointed look ?

Is human a flaw in nature's design ?

I had a query on human evolution. 

God has designed a perfect eco-system where everything is so well connected with each other.

It’s almost a perfect system. He created such a beautiful world and then created man, someone who in turn is destroying his design.

Don’t you think GOD’s design of earth is flawed?

How could he ruin the perfect design by creating a human ?

Also there is so much of difference in intelligence between man and other species. Man is far too more powerful than other species and doesn't have any competition.

It might look boring question.. if so ignore it

Small act of courage

On saturday 5th Febraury while coming back from gym I realised I had forgot my wallet at office. I stopped at wanowrie junction to decide if I should go to office or just go home. Here a traffic hawaldar stopped me and asked me for my licence. I told him that I have forgotten my wallet at office and dont have a licence. He took my bike keys, I had no way to get the money. Finally after much pleeding he agreed to give me 50 rs to get my wallet from office.

In office I searched for the rto fine laws. I found that you have to pay 300 Rs for driving without licence. I decided that I would rather pay 300rs to goverment and get a receipt than pay 200Rs to the officer.

I browsed more and found a Times of India article "http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/pune/Traffic-dept-cannot-fine-motorists-without-PUC-papers/articleshow/6253890.cms".

It says :-

According to the traffic department, no drives or actions are taken specifically to check driving licences. "One needs to produce one's license only in apparent cases of traffic violation like more than two persons riding on a two-wheeler, signal jumping and so on,"

I was very angry on reading this. The traffic police was trying to rob me of money.

I browsed and got the contact number of traffic incharge of Wanowrie. I called him to the police chowky to help me out with this case.

The traffic incharge was very helpful and heard my case.

He asked the traffic hawaldar why my bike as detained, but he was not able to give any clear explanation.

Realising this, the traffic incharge gave over the bike to me and let me off without any charges.

I knew I had not done any mistake and did not want to pay money for it. I was very happy that I fought for my rights.

Its also good to know that we have honest officers like P.M Kakade (traffice incharge for wanowrie)
